Why do I say: I Don’t Buy and Sell Real Estate, But I Have the Privilege of Helping Those Who Do? Well, let’s start with the difference between a salesman and a consultant? A salesman is trying to sell you something—whether it’s a home for you to buy, or a price to sell your home for—rather than helping you to buy what you need or sell at the appropriate price for the times and neighborhood. What does that mean for you? As your buying consultant, I’ll help you find what you need, advise you of the relative values for the market, guide you through the process as your negotiator, and on through to closing and moving into your new home. As your selling consultant, I will help define the market value of your property, bring to bear my expertise in the marketing of your home, be there to discuss offers made, and take the worry out of the process from beginning to the day you sign the closing documents. Salesmen try to sell people what the salesman wants them to do, while consultants find what you need and help you realize your goal. The former is there for their sake, the latter for yours. You decide which type of person you need for your next real estate transaction.
