Here are some of the area resources you will need in Wimberley.
Remember: there are no 'city' services as you will find in cities. Even our two municipalities, Woodcreek and, of course, Wimberley, do not have city utilities or trash service. Aqua and Wimberley Water are both privately owned companies, and Pedernales Electric is the only game in the area.
Also remember rain water harvesting is a very viable water source. I have only rain water (no well), and the word to remember is 'capacity', as in, build in enough capacity and you won't run out. And the water coming from the sky remains cleaner than what comes from the ground.
Pedernales Electric Co-op is the only electric company serving Wimberley Valley, Dripping Springs, Blanco and Johnson City, among other areas, (888) 554-4732, or PEC

Yes, Internet is often considered a utility and for good reason. In the Wimberley area there are four viable Internet carriers: cable, DSL, and two locally-owned wireless providers for the many people outside the reach of cable and DSL.
Wireless: Anvil Communications
The city of Wimberley states that if someone uses a waste disposal service, they must use Texas Disposal Systems (TDS); the Woodcreek web site lists Waste Connections (they provide a number but not a web site); many local neighborhoods use TDS, Riata Disposal as well. Best thing to do is ask your neighbors via neighborhood message boards, or just see whose names are on the receptacles.
